
ASHEVILLE – Rep. Madison Cawthorn will face a Home ethics investigation over allegations he improperly promoted a cryptocurrency and engaged in a relationship with an individual employed on his congressional workers.
That’s in keeping with a Could 23 Ethics Committee assertion launched by Chair Theodore E. Deutch, D-Florida and Rating Member Jackie Walorski, R-Indiana. They mentioned a subcommittee could be shaped to look into the allegations.

“The Investigative Subcommittee shall have jurisdiction to find out whether or not Consultant Madison Cawthorn could have: improperly promoted a cryptocurrency through which he could have had an undisclosed monetary curiosity, and engaged in an improper relationship with a person employed on his congressional workers,” the assertion mentioned.
Cawthorn, a controversial Henderson County Republican representing Western North Carolina, misplaced his first reelection bid within the Could 17 primaries amid scandals and missteps that spurred massive numbers of Republicans and unaffiliated voters to again alternate GOP candidates.
Cawthorn spokesperson Luke Ball didn’t instantly reply to messages searching for remark.
